There are tourist attractions in the Netherlands

     There are several tourist attractions in foreign countries that I want to visit. Like : the Keukenhof flower garden, the village of Kinderdijk, the Heineken Museum, Leiden Canal and Vredespaleis. All of the attractions are located in the Netherlands. The reason why I want to visit some of these places is because I want to see the tulips, windmills, and several interesting museums and can increase my knowledge.

1. The Keukenhof Flower Gard 

                          


     Keukenhof (in the Netherlands means Kitchen Gardens) is a flower garden in Lisse, Netherlands, and is the world's largest flower garden. According to the official website of Keukenhof Garden, there are seven million flower petals planted once a year in the garden.Keukenhof is located in South Holland, between the towns of Hillegom and Lisse, South of Haarlem and southwest of Amsterdam. And can be reached by bus from the bus station of Haarlem or Leiden. The Park is located in an area called the Duin en Bollenstreek.


     The Park was created in 1949 by the candidate for mayor of Lisse, a small town near Amsterdam. That is to make an exhibition of flower to flower growers from all over the Netherlands and Europe can show off a flower will help Netherlands as the world's biggest flower exporter. Within 50 years the Keukenhof has become a world's largest flower garden.Keukenhof in the last week of March to mid-May. The best time to see the tulips is mid-April, depending on the weather. In 2009 Keukenhof will be open on 19 March to 21 May.

     In addition the keukenhof has an area of 32 acres has a collection of more than seven million tulips, Daffodils, and other types of Hyacints.First, this park is a former hunting area before it was converted into a flower garden. And that became a mainstay in the garden is a collection of very diverse Tulips interest. Even though the tulips themselves come from Turkey but the Keukenhof flower garden, the land of the Windmills also known as negiri tulips. But the country's national flower is tulip Iran and Turkey.
     
2.  The Village of Kinderdijk



 
     Kinderdijk is a village in the Netherlands, belonging to the municipality of Lekkerland, in the province of Holland, about 15 km east of Rotterdam. Kinderdijk Polder from meetings between the Rivers Lek and Noord. To drain the water so that it becomes the mainland using the Polder windmills, a system of 19 Windmills was built around 1740. This Windmill is a group where the drain using the Polder system is the largest and oldest Windmills in the Netherlands. From Kinderdijk Windmill networks is one of the famous attractions in the Netherlands. This place has been designated a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1997.


    In Alblasserwaard, problems with water Became more and more apparent in the 13th century. The big Canal, dug to dispose of excess water in the polders. However, the soil is dried start going down, while the level of the river rises due to the sands of river sediment. After a few centuries, additional ways for making dried the area needed. The Government decided to build a series of windmills, with a limited capacity to bridge the difference in height of the face of the water, but simply to pump the water into a reservoir at the intermediate level between the polder lands and rivers, reservoirs can be pumped out into the river by Other windmills Whenever the level of the River was fairly low, the level of the river has both seasonal and tidal variations. Although some windmills are still used, working the water main supplied by two diesel-pumping station is one of the entrances of the Windmill.

3. The Heineken Museum


                               

     The Heineken Experience, located in Amsterdam, is a historic brewery and corporate visitor center for the internationally distributed Dutch pilsner, Heineken beer.The industrial facility was built as the first Heineken brewery in 1867, serving as the company's primary brewing facility until 1988 when a more modern, larger facility was constructed on the outskirts of the city. 

      In 1991, the brewery opened to the public as a brewery tour and visitor center, known as the "Heineken Treat and Information Centre" (Dutch: Heineken ontvangst- en informatiecentrum). The attraction grew to become one of Amsterdam's most popular tourist attractions and by 2001 the visitor center changed its name to "Heineken Experience".After a year of extensive remodeling and expansion, the Heineken Experience reopened to visitors on 3 November, 2008. The latest transformation of the visitor experience comprises four levels of historical artifacts, product exploration and sampling, and interactive exhibits which employ the latest high-tech multi-media technologies.



     In renovating this visitor experience, the brewery tour was designed to educate the public on the process of pilsner brewing as well as to bringing the Heineken product and brand to life. As described by branding expert Bob Rogers of the Burbank, CA based experience design firm, BRC Imagination Arts, commissioned to design the visitor center renovations: "We wanted to bring back the connection with beer-making, and the history of Heineken, to help people see it, touch it, taste it".
     While the original brewing facility which houses The Heineken Experience is an historic landmark for the Heineken company, it serves also as an Anchor Point on the European Route of Industrial Heritage. The European Route of Industrial Heritage presents 845 sites in 29 European countries. Of these, 66 Anchor Points compose the ERIH main route. In whole, eleven Regional Routes host the industrial history of the European landscape in detail, and all sites relate to ten European Theme Routes which show the diversity of European industrial history and their common roots.

4. Leiden Canal


      The canals of Leiden were incorporated into the city's planning from the seventeenth century. With an outer canal that was built for defense, water management to the various canals dug in a grid pattern within the city, transportation, and development purposes, the city has used its canals to great benefit. The canals of Leiden crisscross the town and are studded with tree-covered quays where boats can land and depart.

     Today boat traffic is still used to transport goods around the city. In addition, boat tours and boat restaurants float on the Leiden canals. Even the oldest branch of the Rhine river becomes part of the canal system in some places serving to fill the rest of the canals with their needed water.  The waterways and canals wind through parks as well as dock areas. There are many restaurants and parks beside the canals where you utilize water taxis to get to and fro. Stop and moor your boat to have a picnic, lunch, or just a drink. 


Exploring Leiden the Dutch way

     Enjoy exploring Leiden. Canals interlock the city, are crossed by bridges, and traversed by boat. Rent a boat at one of the many boat rental agencies and explore on your own or take a canal cruise. Tickets for canal cruises are available at the Beestenmarkt, just a two-minute walk from the Centraal train station. To learn the details of boat rentals, call or visit the local tourist information office for friendly advice. If you would rather have someone else drive the boat for you, they can also recommend good tours and dinner cruises.

5. Vredespaleis



    The Peace Place as the name is a large building that serves as the center of the judiciary as the headquarters of the UN International Court of Justice. The building, situated in the city of The Hague or Hague was first used in 1913 as the courthouse. While the construction was carried out in 1907.




     Netherlands tourist attractions include the Palace of neoclassic Renaissanace historic, a very unique thing in this place filled with various items or objects which is a gift from some other countries. For example, Japan's wall carpets, timber from Indonesia, doors from Belgium, the clock tower from Switzerland and others.
